African beans

3 1/2 cups of uncooked beans. I used pinto, any kind will do  4 onions saute’ in 3 tablespoons oil or butter  1 can of tomato paste 1 can of coconut cream 3 teaspoons of Paprika 1 teaspoon chili powder  1 teaspoon of cumin  2 tablespoons of brown sugar  1 1/2 teaspoon of salt  Cook your dried beans. I did mine in the pressure cooker for about 40 minutes. I put the dried beans in with 6 cups of water. You can do it on high pressure . Here in Africa we don’t have a high and low pressure. You will have to wait until you taste them to see if you need to cook them longer. If so put them in a little longer.  Saute’ your onions in your oil until onions are translucent. Add all the rest of the ingredients over a gentle heat until they are smooth and creamy. Drain your beans and add to the saute. Stir often. When this is done I made rice. It can go on rice or just to the side.
