PEACH COBBLER
Directions
8-9 flesh peaches or 3 bottles of canned peaches
1 tablespoon lemon
1/2 cup butter or l stick
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
1 1/2 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Boil on stove
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 cup boiling water
Directions
Lightly grease a 9 by 12 baking dish. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Peel and slice the peaches and sprinkle with lemon juice then turn once or twice
Cream the butter with the sugar, and vanilla. (I use the Bosch Compact Mixer to do this part.) Add the nutmeg, baking powder and salt with the flour, in separate bowl, mix together. Add the butter, sugar, vanilla mixture in with dry ingredients. Mix well by hand. Your dough should be crumbly.
Mix the remaining sugar and water boil on stove until all the ingredients have dissolved.
Pour half of the peaches into the baking pan. Crumble half the dough over top of them. Add the remaining peaches, add liquid. Add remaining peaches, and crumble the rest of the dough over the top. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until light brown on the top. If using fresh peaches you will probably need to cook for 1 hour.
