INEXPENSIVE JAMS MADE FROM THINGS IN YOUR GARDEN

                                                                  Raspberry Jam
We had a wonderful jam and jelly class today.  I decided to teach things that I had learned for a wonderful lady in Colorado who is one of my daughters good friends.  What I learned was amazing so I can teach you as well so we can all learn together.  Doesn't this jam look wonderful.  It is raspberry jam with no seeds.  Yes you heard right, with no seeds.  Amazing for you and me. Another great recipe for you to keep.

This jam is made with green tomato's.  Yes you heard correctly green tomato's.  The recipe is as follow.

5 cups of blended green tomato's  (I grind them up in my blender.)  (It is about 6 large tomato's)
1/2 of a cup of water to help grind up the tomato's    (Add to big pan this is going to spit like all jams do) then Add: 1/3 cup lemon juice
1 small package of raspberry jello
Mix jello with 1/2 cup of instant clear gel with 5-6 cups of sugar (Mix thoroughly, stir into your jam with a wire whisk)  Cook on stove until it comes to a good boil.  Then boil for 1 minute.  Pour into your pre-washed jars.  Boil your lids before you put on jars for at least 3 minutes.  Make sure your jars are all clean from the jam that you just poured in.  Then put lid on, and tighten your ring.  After they seal then you can store them.

Apple Jelly
This jam is made with apple juice.  It is amazing.  My children love it.   Mix together in a large pan:
4 cups of apple juice
1/4 cup of lemon juice
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
1/3 cup instant clear gel mixed with 2 cups sugar
Cook on stove until boiling, boil for l minute.
Pour into your newly washed jars
Boil your lids for 3 minutes and place on jars then put rings on and screw down.
                                                                 Crabapple Jelly
The above picture is a new jam I did.
It is made with crab apples.  Pick apples then steam the apples.
I have a steamer so I just dumped crab apples into the top an steamed them.
Use 3 cups of juice from the steamed crab apples pour in pan.
Add 3 Tablespoons of lemon juice
1 small package of lemon/berry jello
1 cup of regular apple juice
Add 2 cups of sugar to 1/3 cup of instant clear gel
Bring to a boil and boil 1 minute
Pour into clean jars.  Put on the lids that you have boiled for 3 minutes.
They will seal beautifully.
Grape Jelly
This jelly is made with beet juice.  Yes beet juice.  I take my beets and peel them. Then I cook them until tender.  I get to use the beets for supper.  Great vegetable.  All the nutrients are in the juice, so this is your chance to use it.
3 cups beet juice
3 Tablespoons lemon juice
1 small package of grape jello
2 cups of sugar mixed with 1/3 cup of instant clear jell
Boil 1 minute and pour into your freshly washed jars.  Make sure you have boiled your lids for 3 minutes then screw tightly on the jar, after you make sure the jar is clean of any jelly spills.
( You can add a small package of raspberry, strawberry, cherry, of grape jello that will change the taste to however you want your jelly to taste. This recipe is very versatile.  )

Line you storage shelves with beautiful colored jams and jelly's.

You will be the favorite mother or grandmother around the neighborhood.
Hints:  You can make this into a raspberry junket or a strawberry junket.  It is an amazing recipe.
It looks beautiful as well!
